Data Roles Map

The data governance model leverages current roles already present throughout the university. The data governance roles formalize certain acccountabilities and responsibilities throughout the hierarchy. Most of the data leadership roles follow a common sense approach where it is fairly straightforward in understanding the relationships.

It is also important to note that some of our data governance leadership accountabilities will be shared as opposed to under a singular person or role. Shared data partnerships are an important component of our data ecosystem and honours various vested interests in how our data are formed and utilized.

Finally, as we are leveraging existing roles within the organization to fulfill our data governance obligations it is worth highlighting that some of the data governance roles will be overlapping in certain cases, acknowledging that the same person might encompass a number of data governance roles.
